Transforming Healthcare, Together

transforming healthcare

At Mayden we create insightful software for healthcare that’s data driven, outcome focused and has the patient at its heart.

Our flagship product, iaptus®, is the leading electronic health record (EHR) for psychological therapies in the UK and is used by over 200 mental health services across public, private and voluntary sectors. iaptus is also used by psychological therapy services across Australia, Canada and, more recently, supporting children’s mental health services in the Republic of Ireland.

“Jigsaw has long valued the importance of having good clinical records and accessible data for research, evaluation and learning. We are delighted to be working with Mayden. Our work together to embed the iaptus EHR will allow us to move our case management processes to another level, and help us to achieve better mental health outcomes for the young people we support.” Joseph Duffy, CEO, Jigsaw The National Centre for Youth Mental Health in Ireland.

Our customers recognised the value in our flexible, care pathway centred and outcomes focussed EHR and have since adopted iaptus to support other healthcare services such as; gambling harms, diabetes remission, weight management and cardiovascular disease prevention.

iaptus is perfectly positioned to support healthcare services treating large volumes of patients, where outcomes for the patient must be captured and reported locally or nationally. We have helped over 200 services to transform their services and support them in offering high quality, person centred, efficient and consistent care.

Technology that works really hard for you

Many of our competitors fall into two camps. Either they’re small niche systems which are good at one thing but not flexible, or they’re monolithic systems that can do lots of things but do not provide the specific functionality that is required for specialist services providing distinct types of care.

By contrast, we’ve produced a system that works really hard for clinicians, is suitable for niche markets, interoperable and flexible. Clinicians tell us they love using it, the system saves them time and resources, and works well for managing patients through care pathways and capturing their outcomes.

NHS England commissioned surveys, looking at clinical system usability, provided very positive feedback from users about their experiences of iaptus. Our system consistently outperformed the NHS Electronic Patient Record (EPR) average, including reliability and speed, functionality, integration and ease of learning. For overall user experience for mental health EPRs, iaptus was in the 100th percentile.

Transforming healthcare starts with data

iaptus includes the care pathway data and outcome measurements for 8 million patients. That’s 8 million patient journeys that can tell us what works and what doesn’t for different patient cohorts.

Our founding director, Chris May, often speaks about how treatment-outcome data can address some of healthcare’s biggest challenges. He says, “One way of achieving this is with outcomes-focused, data-driven healthcare. This means unlocking the value in the wealth of information collected about how past patients have responded to treatment, and using that to inform and optimise the treatment for present ones.”

Our mission is to transform the way healthcare is delivered by changing what’s possible for clinicians and patients. This has been our life’s work for the last two decades, and we have so much more that we want to achieve.

We have co-designed a first-class patient management system that clinicians working in mental health services love using. We want to build on that, designing more features that help services to reach more people in need of support and ensure they receive the best possible care. But we also see more and more clinical services across healthcare looking to benefit from a tailored clinical system that supports their way of working. In the last few years iaptus has been successfully deployed to support gambling addiction services as well as some wellbeing, weight management and diabetes programmes.

future of healthcare

Partnerships are important to us

To support us in our mission, we collaborate with other experts – our customers, clinicians, academics – to design software that has a demonstrable impact on outcomes for services and patients.

Over the last 10 years, we have actively sought out opportunities to integrate with other systems and have formed partnerships with over 30 digital health partners.

“I’ve worked with Mayden since commissioning the development of iaptus in 2006 and have found they share our passion to give our patients outstanding care through their digital solutions. Their willingness to innovate to give patients and staff a great digital experience gives me reason to strongly recommend them as a strategic technical partner.”– Dr Ben Wright BSc MB BS MSc FFCI FRCPsych, CCDO
